The Jumanji Distressed Property

EPS Houses purchased this home from some sellers who needed the means to keep or maintain it. The Yard had been cut over two years ago. We bought this home and relieved the seller of this overwhelming, stressful, distressed property.

Distressed property Overview

This project required complete rehab. Starting with the yard, we filled three dumpsters and found over snakes living in the Jumanji backyard. The inside of the home was overflowing with junk that took eight dumpsters to empty. We had to completely gut the house of the kitchen, flooring, bathrooms, and much more to get it ready for the renovations.

Reconstruction

Our reconstruction phase included a new roof complete with tare-off and put back on with new soffits—tree removal and paint on the outside.

On the home’s interior, we had to repair holes in the ceiling from the old leaking roof, remove the popcorn ceiling, and replace it with the knockdown. We removed all the old tiles and replaced them with new ones and carpet throughout the house. We discovered that the plumbing was wrong and needed to be replaced. We updated the plumbing, septic, and drain field and installed a new water purification system to filter the healthy water that supplied the house with water.

The kitchen was taken from your traditional ally way kitchen to an updated open floor plan complete with Shaker cabinets, Granite countertops, and brand-new stainless steel appliances for the added charm they bring to a home. The bathrooms need a complete overhaul as well. We replaced the old distressed bathrooms with new tile, vanities, toilets, tubs, and showers. This upgrade was a great addon to get the Jumanji house to market-ready condition. As you can see from the before and after pictures, this project was a significant task and a lot of hard work.

Closing

We concluded that this property was a lot of hard work but worth it. EPS Houses purchasing this home was a mutually beneficial transaction for both the sellers and EPS Houses. We buy both distressed houses like this one and Pretty Houses that are move-in ready. So please contact us now, and we can discuss what we do and give you a no-obligation offer on your home today.

Tomorrow is the most important thing in life comes into us at midnight very clean. It's perfect when it arrives and it puts it self in our hands.
